Our Story
Mikayla grew up loving all things fashion. Down to the fit, the quality, and the design of the garment. As she grew older, she struggled with finding clothes perfect for her body shape and height. Mikayla is a do-it-herself kind of girl, so she decided to teach herself how to fix the clothes she already had.
She began tailoring garments by hand and grew to love the process of taking apart and putting back together clothing to make it fit perfectly.
After some time, Mikayla began her journey of alterations. She bought her first sewing machine and got to work. She started fixing clothes for her family as practice and soon grew to friends. She received great feedback and realized she wanted to make this a business of her own.
With her family’s help, she designed a logo and business cards to help with the identification of her business. She depended much on word-of-mouth advertising and gained many recurring customers who loved her work.
She continued to expand the professional work of her business by buying a serger and quality tools to help her produce quality work.
Mikayla worked from her home office for several years before moving into a shop of her own. For years it was her dream to open a store and she finally made it with her hard work and determination.
The problem Mikayla set out to solve from the start was catering to the needs of emergency alterations for those with busy lives. We cannot always determine events and last-minute plans in our lives. Because of this, we must adjust to our busy schedules. MM Alterations is here to provide swift services to those unpredictable moments. Our goal is for you to leave happy and satisfied with the finished product.
